Grandma Pearce's Sugar Cookies

These are SO delicious and soft!

Cream together these ingredients:

2 tsp. vanilla (you can be generous)
5 C sugar
2 C butter or shortening
4 eggs

Then add:

2 C milk
12-14 C flour (Grandma's recipe calls for only 8, but it doesn't seem to be enough.)
1 1/2 T baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp nutmeg (I use 2 tsp. for more flavor)
1 C powdered milk
2 tsp. salt

Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes

Frosting:

1 regular size package cream cheese
1 cube butter
vanilla to taste
1/2 package of powdered sugar (add more it the consistency isn't right)

For raisin filling grind together nuts and raisins and place in the middle of 2 circles of dough before baking.
